Alfano, Carmela 1910-2010

Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dearly loved mother on Tuesday July 13, 2010. Carmela Alfano, in her 100th year, daughter of the late Maria and Vincenzo Sciascia. Beloved wife of the late Luigi Alfano (1970). Loving mother of Alfonso (Margaret) Alfano, Maria (Lil) (Frank) Martinello. Dear grandmother of Rosina (Gary) MacDonald, Felice (Sharon) Martinello, Luigi (Edda) Martinello, Vincent (Kathleen) Martinello, Luigi (Barbara) Alfano and John (Joanne) Alfano. Loved by twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Mary (Ralph-deceased) Ellis, Grace (Sam-deceased) Nunziato and a sister-in-law Ida Predeceased by her brothers Leonardo and his wife Mary and Alfonso , her sisters Raimonda (Angelo) Scime, Concetta (Nicolo) Alfano and Rosalia Sciascia. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to the caring staff of Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre.

Visitation

Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME – “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON, (905-574-0405) on Friday, July 16, 2010 from 2 until 9 PM. Vigil for Carmela Alfano will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7 PM.

Service

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 63 Hwy 53 (at Hwy 20), Binbrook on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 10 AM

Cemetery

Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
