Niche

The word niche is a noun describing “an ornamental recess in a wall to place statues or other precious objects”. When choosing a niche at Bayview Cemetery, you will have the option of a glass front, a marble front or a bronzed memorial plaque. Each option has it’s own benefits and drawbacks depending on personal preferences. These days, most families tend towards the glass fronted niches allowing them to create a memorial tableau of sorts. Behind the scenes we sometimes call these niches “memory boxes” because of the ability to really personalize and change the ‘tableau’ at whim. These are secured with special equipment only available to the mausoleum staff.

Outdoor niches are also available in either granite or a bronze plaque. These outdoor niches overlook the Burlington Bay amid the lush, meticulously maintained landscaping that Bayview Cemetery is known for.
