Looking Ahead

Looking Ahead

With 2015 behind us, it’s the perfect time to look ahead - to new beginnings and promises of hope. Every year presents an opportunity to take stock of our accomplishments over the past 12 months and evaluate the outcome.

As 2015 drew to a close, we honoured families with a solemn Tree Lighting Ceremony attended by over 300 people, in partnership with the South Central Region of Bereaved Families of Ontario.

It was a good year for the Bay Gardens family. Thanks to the great communities that surround us, we achieved several Reader's Choice Awards and had our beautiful gardens recognized by the Hamilton Trillium Award of Excellence for Ward 6. To say thank you to our communities and give back for this recognition, Bay Gardens and Bayview Cemetery presented Hamilton children’s charity, Catarino House, with over $3,000 in donations to assist them in their programming. We held our annual staff Christmas party on December 20th and collected new clothes, toys and personal care items to The Living Rock, in support of at-risk youth in Hamilton.

Dates to Remember - Bob Kemp Hospice’s Camp Erin registration and information sessions are coming up this month. Camp Erin is a free weekend bereavement camp for children and teens ages 6 through 17 who are grieving the death of someone close to them. Campers participate in fun, traditional camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support, led by expert bereavement professionals and trained volunteers.

As temperatures fall and winter sets in, the staff at Bay Gardens Funeral Home and Bayview Cemetery wish you all a safe and prosperous 2016.
